KaeJay is the musical alter ego of a New York City native, born in the Bronx and raised in Washington Heights. With a bachelor’s degree in music and a career as a NYC public school teacher, he brings a unique perspective to his songwriting, blending storytelling, rhythm, and the vibrancy of his community.

A former dancer with deep roots in the local culture, KaeJay channels his experiences into songs that celebrate heritage, resilience, and creativity. Beyond music, he is dedicated to mentoring future generations and giving back to the city that raised him. Teaching in the very community that prepared him for the outside world, he views his work as both an expression of gratitude and a responsibility—to remind young people of their own power, found in their ability to think, choose, and shape their lives as individuals and as part of a greater whole.
